Complete guide to Flow Builder and its blocks

Understand Flow Start, common blocks, branching, AI and reusable processes, with links to each block reference.

Flow Builder represents conversation logic as connected blocks. Flow Start defines the incoming event; it is not a block. Start with one clear goal and add branches only when needed.

1. Configure Flow Start

Choose the supported event, account, content scope and keywords. A comment private reply does not permit an unrestricted sequence of messages: use the required user response or interaction gate before continuing in DMs.

2. Build the main path

Use Plain Text for clear replies, Condition / Filter for routing and Delay for a short pause. Connect every relevant output to a valid destination.

3. Collect and store information

Form Builder validates an answer. Save Contact Information maps collected data to profile fields. Contact State maintains tags and persistent attributes.

4. Add media and choices

Use Image, Video and Audio for media; Button Card and Carousel for visual choices. Internal buttons need connected destinations and external buttons need valid links.

5. Use AI and reusable logic

Give Magic AI a precise goal, permitted context and bounded outputs. Run Subflow calls an indirect reusable process and returns to the parent. Continue in DM Flow transfers to an eligible existing DM flow.

6. Plan notifications and follow-up

Telegram can notify an authorized team destination. Scheduled Follow-up schedules a later action without keeping the current run open. Check platform messaging limits before sending.

7. Test before activation

Test the real trigger, every branch, invalid inputs, missing data, waits and the final result. Inspect the execution report and fix the first failing step.
