Publishing failed: what should I check?
Check the file, destination account, connection, schedule and error report.
Publishing can fail because of media, account connection, permissions, scheduling or a platform error. Inspect the existing item before uploading again or creating another copy.
What you will learn
Narrow down the cause step by step while avoiding duplicate content.
Before you start
- Find the failed item in the content list.
- Retain its error message or status.
- Identify the destination account.
Steps
1 — Check the file
The upload must be complete and its preview visible.
2 — Match file and content type
Posts, Reels, Stories and Carousels have different requirements.
3 — Check destination and connection
Confirm the correct account is selected and healthy.
4 — Check the schedule and queue
If scheduled, verify that execution time has arrived and the item is not still waiting.
5 — Read the error
Use the specific platform or system error as the starting point.
6 — Retry once after fixing
Avoid repeatedly pressing Publish and creating duplicate operations.
Useful tips
- Record the error before editing content.
- After the fix, check the existing item’s status.
- For videos, upload completion and thumbnails are important.
Troubleshooting
- If the list status updates slowly, refresh and check again.
- For a permission error, reauthorize the account connection.
