Upload photos and videos: size, preview and thumbnail
Choose appropriate files, wait for upload completion and inspect the preview before saving.
Selecting a file is only the first step. It must reach the server completely, be recognized correctly and have its preview or thumbnail prepared before you save the content.
What you will learn
Distinguish selecting a file, completing its upload and saving the final content.
Before you start
- Use a healthy, playable file.
- Choose an appropriate video size and duration.
- Avoid unnecessarily large files on unstable connections.
Steps
1 — Select the file
Use the content form’s upload area to choose an image or video.
2 — Watch upload progress
Stay on the page until progress completes and avoid repeatedly pressing Save.
3 — Inspect the preview
Check the image itself, or the video preview and thumbnail.
4 — Match the file to the content type
Posts, Reels, Stories and Carousels have different requirements.
5 — Save after upload completion
Once the upload is complete, check the caption and schedule, then save.
Useful tips
- Select the file once and wait for completion.
- Keep the exact error if a preview works but saving fails.
- Check Carousel media order before saving.
Troubleshooting
- If progress stops at one percentage, check connectivity and file size.
- If the thumbnail is missing, test the video in a normal player.
